first_imgMany state agencies will be closed Friday for Washington state’s monthly unpaid furlough day.Among the dozens of agencies, boards and commissions that will be closed Friday are the departments of commerce, corrections, fish and wildlife, health, personnel and veterans affairs.Exemptions cover certain public safety, public health and revenue-generation activities. Services by child protection workers, community corrections officers, emergency public health and patient safety workers, and the Washington State Patrol will continue in full.The monthly furloughs will save more than $70 million in all funds in 2010–11.
